Titera’s Tidbit: Didgeridoo
Once found only in Arnhem Land in nothern Australia, this long, tubular woodwind instrument is a staple of New Agers the world over. The name was thought to come from an aboriginal language, but it turns out it comes from a Sydney newspaper writer who grumpily said, “It produces but one sound – didjerry, didjerry, didjerry – and so on ad infinitum.”
