Titera’s Tidbit: Tequila
The distilled juice of the agave plant takes its name from a little town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, where large cactus plantations were established to make the drink. By recently established international law, anything called “tequila” must actually come from the place, just as champagne must come from the French province of the same name.
