Titera’s Tidbit: Blad
In several Scandinavian languages, a leaf of grass or a page is a blad, cognate with the English word “blade”.  In the language of fashion photography, borrowed by the book industry, a “blad” is a printed layout showing the relationship of text and image. How the Nordic word was thus transferred is something of a mystery, except that Scandinavia has a long tradition of fine printing.
